hmm, I think finally found apartment. Nothing fancy, no view, not cheap, not walking distance from office, not bikable, not a gas stove, but that is Zurich! I can still get into office in under 30 min, and there are plenty trains and there are mountain views outside apartment.
apartment
Nothing more exciting after finding the salsa club.

Wow my story isn't like yours but I am here in Zurich to au pair, so I luckily have a family and am only living here for 3 months from the U.S. but still I find it very hard to meet people and do things. The swiss people in general (esp the german side) are known to be very reserved.. The public transit I can do daily can bother me because I want to talk to everyone and I really care about people, I suppose I am just not used to all the differences. And i'm silly when I have met nice people I didnt even get their number or anything! But i did go to a good concert wed and met this girl from holland who said they love Americans.. but thats more other Europeans than the swiss unfortunately <<
Good luck to your new apartment. I hope you'll have a great time there. Well it is not easy to find a suitable apartment for your everyday lifestyle.
I am glad that the existence of the salsa club more than made up for any ill feelings that you have on your apartment. I wish you good days ahead in your new place!
